I stumbled upon this charity event where a whole bunch of great wedding photographers that I respect auctioned off some of their time to mentor other photographers. I won two of these auctions and got to spend some phone time with The Humphries and Ned Jackson.
The Humphries used to be located in Southern California, but recently made the big move to Denver, CO. They are very well respected photographers and do incredible work. I really enjoyed my conversation with Katie Humphrey and the advice she gave me about becoming a better photographer. I finished that mentor session a little overwhelmed with everything I need to do, but it's also exciting to know just how much opportunity there is as a Dallas Wedding Photographer.
Ned Jackson was a blast to talk to. He has a great personality and works out of Boston, MA. He has grown his business organically and gave me some tips on how he did that as well as some other advice to provide a better overall experience to my clients. He has a real laid back personality that I am sure has been a big part of his success. Just an overall great guy!
I hope to have the opportunity to meet them in person one day. Maybe WPPI next year! :)
