A few months ago I had this really crazy idea about essentially putting on a photo shoot with the goal of getting the pictures featured on a major national wedding blog called Style Me Pretty.  I would get to take some really cool photos, work with other wedding professionals, and get some free advertising.  A potential win not just for me, but for everyone involved.

I started by sending some emails to wedding professionals in the area that I didn't know personally and no one responded.  Not even a no thank you.  I knew I had a good idea so I wasn't too discouraged.  I had to think about how to go about finding a wedding coordinator, florist, rentals, bakery, lighting, venue, and models.  So many parts and so many details.  Was it even possible?

Then I remembered!  I had worked with a florist named Debbie Jewessen with Branching Out Events and she was super nice.  She had even featured some of my photography of her floral work on her blog.  So I contacted her about this and she loved the idea.  It was so refreshing to have someone else on board who was just as excited as me.  I can see why brides like her so much.

Debbie introduced me to Kelly Simants with Sweet Pea Events who is always up for working with Debbie and had just started an industry get together called Thursday Therapy.  So Kelly invited me to this social in order for us to meet in person and talk a little about this shoot I wanted to do.  I had a blast meeting many other wedding professionals as well as Kelly.

From there things starting coming together.  Debbie and Kelly knew Megan at the Aldridge House (venue) as well as everyone else needed to make this happen.  We set a date for the shoot and we started dreaming about what it should look like.  Now I will admit that most of the dreaming came from Kelly and Debbie.  I may know how to take a good picture, but I'm not all that great at creating a table-scape.

The shoot was April 27th and it was incredible.  Kelly and Debbie created such beautiful details for this shoot.  However, it wasn't just Kelly and Debbie that helped create these details; it was our extremely talented model bride Jennifer with Memento Designs.  She created just about all of the paper for this shoot and her talent is very evident.  Brides...you want Jennifer on your team!  Go...get...her...now before she is booked solid for the next decade.  She was our secret weapon and her husband Ty made for a great groom...*again*.

There were so many other people that helped and pitched in with this shoot and I will talk about them as well when I finally get to show some pictures.  It's going to be a while as we wait to see if we get published on the Style Me Pretty blog (fingers crossed).

I am writing all of this to say this; even if I did all of this and don't accomplish the goal of being published on this awesome wedding blog; I have accomplished so much by collaborating with other wedding professionals here in the Dallas area.

I have made some great friends, got invited to Thursday Therapy where I met even more fantastic people, took some incredible pictures, and plan to do it again.  I most certainly plan to do this again.
