Jose Villa is an inspiration for any photographer and a huge one for me.  His use of film in wedding photography is very eye opening and this interview has really revealed a world of film photography that I need to explore.  If you're a photographer, you need to listen to this interview and take some notes.  I sure did.

Because of this interview I have been really inspired to shoot some medium format film at a shoot I am putting together with other Dallas Wedding Professionals in April.  You'll have to just wait and see.

The interview was done by Inside Analog Photo, which has a lot of great interviews that are worth checking out.

I was nominated for a best blog award on DallasWeddingPlanner.com recently.  The winner will be determined by the one with the most votes.  Soooo......if you have a few seconds I would really appreciate your help by clicking HERE and voting for me if you like what you see.  I hope you do!

Here is what the email said from DallasWeddingPlanner.com :

"Dallas Wedding Planner has spent many weeks searching for the best resources to share with our readers and have reviewed hundreds of Dallas wedding blogs.  After receiving nominations via email, word of mouth, and comments on the blog, we've trimmed the list to share with you. We're excited to unveil our list of Nominees for the Best Dallas Wedding Blogs in 2009."

No matter who wins I am very proud to be on such a short list with other photographers that are very talented and great people as well.

Part of my re-branding included new business cards.  They couldn't be just any business card; they had to be different.

I decided on letterpress and a square format, but then I had to find a company to do this for me, which was not as easy as you would think.  I searched and searched aaaaaand searched.  Don't even ask me how I found them because I can't remember.  The important thing is that I found them!

Location :: Japan
Customer Service :: Unbelievable

Winged Wheel mailed me a pantone color grid to choose the exact color that I desired.  But it wasn't that they just sent me the color grid, they sent it in a very well branded paper bag with a note on quality card stock as well as different card shapes that they offer.  It was very impressive.

Then they sent me a Christmas Card all the way from Japan to wish me a happy holiday.  It was a very cool card!

Everything that they did was top notch and very impressive.  I really enjoyed working with them.

Welcome to the new blog for Dallas Wedding Photographer, Hansel Dobbs.   You can find anything and everything Hansel Dobbs : Photographer right here.

Into the Darkroom designed my blog and helped me bring my vision/brand to life.  They were insightful, patient, and detailed in everything they did.  The part I liked the most was the sage advice that Anthony gave me when we were making big decisions about certain aspects of the blog.  I really appreciated the "customer service + 1".

Hello Hans--
I am Sarah Kate's mom.....can't wait to meet you in August, especially after seeing these photos!! Fabulous!! Love 'em! I still think she should do at least a little more time in front of the camera, as well as behind it, don't you? Isn't that a mom for ya?
And the rest of your website is great too.
Bravo!
Kelly
